What is a Coach?
Most people associate coaching with athletics. Alhough we do coach athletes, our role is to sit on the bench and listen while our clients express their desires. We walk people through the process every step of the way, but our clients are the driving force behind the outcome of their destiny, goals, and vision.
Think of a child at the beach playing with a sieve. He's picking up piles of sand and sifting and sifting until there is nothing left but the larger pebbles in the bottom of the sieve. A coach is like a sieve -- we help people sift through all that sand to get to those pebbles: their vision, goals, and best destiny.
Could a person reach the pebbles on their own? Of course, but our mission is to get our clients there faster. We make the holes in the sieve bigger; we let you see the pebbles and use them to your advantage. Your answers, your strengths, your future.
A coach's role has been defined by many as follows:
A therapist will explore your fears about riding a bike.
A consultant will tell you how to ride a bike.
A mentor will show you how to ride a bike.
A coach, when you decide you want to ride a bike, will run along beside you to provide support.
How a Client Can Benefit:
A therapist helps you explore your past.
A consultant tells you how to do "something."
A mentor shows you how to do "something."
A coach provides you with tools and support as you take action.
